About Signed & Numbered...

We are a gallery in Salt Lake City, Utah. We specialize in collectible prints and posters. Prints that are unique and have been 'signed' by the artist and the edition has been 'numbered' by the artist, make these prints/posters more valuable. This is the meaning of our name, "Signed & Numbered".

Many of our prints are 'gig posters', or posters that were used to promote a music event. Most artists who create 'gig posters' also do 'art prints', or prints that are not used to promote anything, just something the artist wants to do on their own. We have a large selection of both 'gig posters' and 'art prints' in our gallery.

The artists that are represented in our gallery are mostly from the United States, but many are from overseas as well.

We also offer custom framing. Most of our frame styles are intentionally simple, because poster art usually does not look right in a 'frilly' frame. Also, we make the frames ourselves using mostly 'cutoffs' from lumber stores or reclaimed wood when it's available and fit to be made into frames. 'Cutoff's' are what the lumber stores refer to as the skinny strips of wood that are leftover after milling the premium wood, and are not valuable to furniture shops because they are too skinny. We are glad to put them to use rather than to see them go to waste.

Each and every one of our frames is hand-built in our woodshop. All of the work is done here in Utah.  Not that we have anything against framestocks that come from Italy or China-- we like the Italians and the Chinese, but we think that it's nice to keep it local when possible, so we do...

We use water-based finishes on our frames which are better for the environment than traditional lacquers.

We are able to do custom frames that are not possible through other frame shops because we build each frame from raw wood in the woodshop. We have done frames in the shapes of coffins and crosses and are happy to create frames that might never have been tried before.

We are a family based business. Signed & Numbered is owned by the happy couple, Leia Bell and Phil Sherburne who started it after selling their music venue, Kilby Court.  Leia currently runs the gallery with her friends Andy Chase and Olivia Rochelle Henrie, and Phil works in the shop where the frames are built, mostly by his friend Brent Dreiling who has become a bad ass frame builder.
